The hall of this self-contained separate suite has a fountain and mousharabi (turned wood) skylight. The bathroom has an enormous tadelakt bath with shower, basin, bidet and loo. The bedroom has a painted ceiling, four-poster bed and three windows overlooking the courtyard with mousharabi screens. It has its own stairs up to the roof and may well be the most romantic area of the house.

On the right as you enter the courtyard is the Olive Room – with smooth tadelakt walls the colour of old green leather books, and a curious, but very Moroccan carved plaster canopy over the double bed. The heavy doors, intricately painted by the young man who worked on the King’s Palace, open straight out into the courtyard. The massively thick walls of this room provides a cool refuge from the sun. It has its own bathroom with loo, basin and shower.
